10/16/2010 - This week we have reached some milestones: The foundation for the new school has been dug and school has begun for the children at the current location. There are 4 separate classes. One for toddlers, advances, middle, and beginners.
We anticipate to work on purchasing supplies to fill the foundation and set the beams!
On 9/15/2010, we launched our new website. We invite you to take a look around the website and tell your friends to come see us too by using our new Spread the Word website tool.
PROGRESS:
September 2010: Land has been purchased, land has been cleared, and we are working on blueprints to build a new school, church, and orphanage. With the support of previous volunteers and our partners we are hopeful that this will become a reality.
April-September 2010
The Global Volunteer Network has graciously sent volunteers to the orphanage since April 2010. Even though GVN is no longer working in Croix Des Bouquets, they inititated English courses, secured sponsorship for mattresses, clothing, and enviornmental clean-ups from the volunteers. The children are excited to participate with the clean ups and are happily utlizing their new swing that is from a long rope on a tree.
